Beginnings

Here's a simplified list of some of the things that young families and newly believing families can begin to incorporate into their lives to encourage good spiritual growth in Jesus.

(Note: This is not an exhaustive list. We plan to talk more about these and other things, in the future.)

Begin to familiarize your family with the Bible (Bible book names and locations, etc).

Begin to read the Bible daily.

Begin a simple devotional time (prayer, Bible reading, confession of sin, etc.).

Begin to attend a good church.

Begin to learn hymns and praise songs and worship the Lord as a family.

Begin to incorporate the Gospel message into the daily talk of your family.

Begin to saturate your family in God's Word through studying it, meditating upon it, and memorizing it.

Begin to gain good, basic knowledge of God's Word and set up a way to record what you learn.

Begin giving God thanks in all things.

Begin to concentrate on godly character growth for your family.

Begin serving others and doing acts of love for them, as a family.

Begin to attend times of Bible study, fellowship, and refreshing such as church picnics - retreats - camps.

Begin to diligently watch over what influences your family, eliminating harmful influences as the Lord opens your eyes to them.

Begin to give your family opportunities to share their faith, give their testimony, and give of their resources for the Lord's work.

Begin to read spiritual growth books that are true to the Bible and will encourage your family and build them up in the Lord.
