His
Excellent Word: Biblical
Dynamic at Work
It
is essential to understand the nature
and power of God's Word and what He's made it to do. Take a
moment and read the following things with
belief.
God's
Word (the Bible)...
...
is inspired (2 Tim
3:16).
...
is alive (Heb
4:12).
...
is powerful (Heb
4:12).
...
performs its work in those
who believe (1 Ths 2:13b).
...
is able to give the wisdom
that leads to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus
(2 Tim
3:15).
...
is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path (Ps 119:105).
...
is the word of grace that is
able to build us up (Acts
20:32).
...
equips us so we are
complete, lacking in nothing (2 Tim
3:16-17).
...
will not go out without
accomplishing what He desires (Is 55:11).
God,
the Author, is always with the believer as they read His Word
(Rm 8:9; 1 Cor
3:16,6:19; 2 Tim
1:14).
God's
Holy Spirit illuminates it to the believer (1 Cor
2:14; Jn
14:26; Jn
16:13).
The
point?
As
a believer is hearing or reading God's Word
the
Lord Himself is right there with them
His
Word - being inspired, alive, and active
is
right that minute performing its work in the believer
causing
the effect God desires
renewing
the mind, transforming the life, and causing true spiritual
growth.
God
and His Word have the power to change a person's life. As a
person reads with belief and meditates upon God's very
words, saturating their heart and mind with it, putting it into
practice - God has made His Word to actively be at work in
them.
No
mere human's words can ever do this. But God's Word can, and
it does!
(Note:
Much of the above comes from our curriculum 'Learn to Discern.')
