Because Jesus is God...

 

 

 

 

In Him all the fulness of Deity dwells in bodily form. (Col. 2:9)

 

He is the image of the invisible God... (Col 1:15)

 

He is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of God's nature. (Heb 1:3)

 

He upholds all things by the word of His power. (Heb 1:3)

 

The Father says to Jesus, the Son, "Thy throne, O God, is forever and ever." (Heb 1:8)

 

He is called 'Immanuel' – "God with us." (Mt 1:23)

 

He has the same name as God in the Old Testament - 'I AM':

   a. "Before Abraham was born, I Am." (Jn 8:58)

   b. God said to Moses "I AM who I AM." (Ex 3:14)

 

He will come to have first place in all things. (Col 1:18)

 

He is the Creator of all things and all things were created through Him and for Him. (Col 1:16; Jn 1:3)

 

He will subdue / subject all things to Himself. (Php 3:21)

 

He is the way, and the truth, and the life. (Jn 14:6)

 

No one comes to the Father but through Him. (Jn 14:6)

 

He tells all to come unto Him, and He will give them rest. (Mt 11:28)

 

He draws all men to Himself. (Jn 12:32)

 

The Father gives men to Him. (Jn 6:37,39; Jn 10:29; Jn 17:2,6)

 

It is God who purchased the church with His own blood. (Acts 20:28)

 

Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that He is Lord to the glory of God the Father. (Php 2:10-11)

 

His followers are complete in Him. (Col 2:10)

 

He is the head over all rule and authority. (Col 2:10)

 

His followers are to grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ, Who is Lord and Savior. (2 Pt 3:18)

 

To Him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity.(2 Pt 3:18)

 

He is without sin and without any deceit in His mouth. (1 Pt 2:22; 1 Jn 3:3,5)

 

His followers count all things as loss in view of the surpassing value of knowing Him as Lord. (Php 3:8)

 

His riches are unfathomable. (Eph 3:8)

 

The Father and Jesus jointly receive the same power, riches, wisdom, might, honor, glory, and blessing. (Rev 5:12; Is 42:8; Jn 5:23)

 

He shared glory with the Father since before the world was. (Jn 17:5)

 

He is worshiped (Mt 2:2; Jn 20:28; Mt 28:9,17) and we are to "Worship the LORD our GOD alone." (Mt 4:10)

 

The Father says, "Let all the angels of God worship Jesus." (Heb 1:6)

 

His goings forth are from long ago, from the days of eternity (Micah 5:2)

 

He is declared unequivocally to be God. (Jn 1:1-3; Titus 2:13)

 

He has the power to raise up believers at the last day. (Jn 6:39-40)

 

The Jews picked up stones to kill Him because they rightly understood Him to be making Himself equal with God. (Jn 10:31-33)

 

He is the Good Shepherd (Jn 10:11), God our LORD is our Shepherd. (Ps 23:1)

 

His followers are destined to obtain salvation through Him. (1 Thess 5:9)

 

He gives life to whom He wishes. (Jn 5:21)
