A CHRISTIAN'S DIAGNOSTIC TOOL - INTRODUCTION

HEY! TAKE THIS TEST! See how well you do.

It's a test to help 'diagnose' how prepared you are today to effectively do the

things every Christian ought to be able to do. J

It's geared to require that SPECIFIC WRITTEN ANSWERS BE PRODUCED, CITING

SPECIFIC SCRIPTURES that speak to each issue (as appropriate).

There's a tremendous tendency for us to say we already know the things in this

test just because we're familiar with the terms or concepts or we've had some

kind of teaching on the subject.

But when asked TO WRITE DOWN A SPECIFIC ANSWER (just as though we were

saying it to someone needing the information) it becomes clear that even when

we may actually know the thing we can't always articulate it, and that skill is

crucial for being effective in God's kingdom.

Let's say someone was standing before you asking you these questions. Could

you answer them INSTANTLY 'off the top of your head' from what's dwelling on

your heart? Being able to GET BACK TO A PERSON QUICKLY with an answer you

looked up is fine, but you can't always count on having a second chance to talk

with them. What if they wanted these particular skills themselves? Could you

train the person in them? 

This test will help you find weak points in your understanding of basic Christian

themes and / or your ability to convey them, so they can be studied and you

become a better prepared Christian. The test is extremely simplified to make it

easy to take. So try it and see how you do!

HOW TO TAKE THE TEST:

Read each question and then WRITE DOWN your answer on a piece of paper.

First: PRODUCE WRITTEN ANSWERS straight FROM MEMORY (whatever is already

dwelling on your heart and mind).

          TAKE THE TEST, WITH NO OPEN BOOKS, ANSWERING QUESTIONS FROM

          MEMORY ALONE. Use one specific color of pen to answer your questions

          (the color is your choice). If you do not know the answer to a question,

          simply go on to the next question and answer it.

Next: PRODUCE WRITTEN ANSWERS USING your BIBLE, or any other study helps

you'd like to use. Can you at least FIND the answer needed?

          TAKE THE TEST A SECOND TIME, using a new sheet of paper, and answer

          any questions left unanswered from your first try. But use a different

          color of pen so you will know these were things you didn't have dwelling

          on your heart. (It's still very good if you can at least find the answers!)

Finally: If you're unable to produce answers on certain questions either from

memory or using study helps, WRITE THOSE NUMBERS DOWN. This will help you

'diagnose' the area(s) you need the most study on once you're done taking the

test.

ANSWERS:

The answers to these questions may be put on this website one day. We want to

encourage you to actually try answering the questions first, though, rather than

just look for the answers. J This is important, because you need to find out what

you can, and can't, ACTUALLY PRODUCE by way of answers.

Some of the answers are the ONLY RIGHT answers possible - because they're

exactly what the Bible says on the subject. Other answers are 'possible' KINDS of

answers you might give since the Bible is literally filled with a multitude of good

answers for those subjects.

WHEN YOU'RE FINISHED:

When you're finished with this test, you'll be able to see specific areas you need

to work on.

HERE'S AN IDEA YOU MIGHT TRY:

Once you're completely done with this test AND with studying the areas you

need to, try writing out a set of answers that are well-researched, well thought

out, and accurate to help solidify these things in your heart and mind. Then

periodically quiz yourself to stay on top of knowing the answers. You'll be 

amazed how much these two simple things (writing them out and quizzing

yourself) can help prepare you to be READY WITH ANSWERS FOR THE HOPE

THAT IS WITHIN YOU! J

This test is on the honor system, being between you and God. Nobody but you

will 'grade' it, so it's entirely up to you to get earnest about becoming equipped

to know and serve God better, by PRODUCING ACTUAL WRITTEN ANSWERS.
